CARGO
Tools
R, Figma, Google Forms
TIMELINE
October - December 2024
Role
UX Design & Research Fellow
Objective
Create an app that address real world problems.
INTRODUCTION
Cargo was developed during a one-week sprint where the challenge was to create an app idea that could make a broad positive impact. After exploring shared problems, we focused on the rising cost of food and the need for smarter spending tools. The problem: users don’t have a simple way to compare prices, and current solutions rarely account for diverse preferences.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Users don’t have a simple way to compare prices, and current solutions rarely account for diverse preferences.
RESEARCH APPROACH
We began with brainstorming and secondary research, including market data showing food prices rose 31% in six years. From this, we mapped user pain points around affordability and choice. I cleaned and filtered survey data in R, then built a Tableau dashboard to visualize patterns in spending behavior. Journey flows were developed from these insights, and wireframes in Figma explored how to make comparison tools more intuitive.

Competitor Analysis
RESULTS
Presented findings to an audience of 30+ members received positive feedback.
REFLECTION
Cargo was a concept project, but it was my first time using my statistics skills to help lead product decision. By working across R, Tableau, and Figma, I learned how to translate raw data into both insights and interactive prototypes. This project also taught me how to effectively work under pressure with tight deadline while also giving me valuable experience in team leadership and coordination.
