INTRODUCTION
This project, part of the cargo case study, focused on understanding user spending habits to see whether people valued price comparison tools and what gaps existed in the market. As the sole researcher and analyst, my goal was to uncover insights that could shape the Cargo app concept.
RESEARCH METHOD
I designed and distributed a survey to capture user needs and shopping habits, balancing quantitative (closed-ended) and qualitative (open-ended) questions. After collecting responses, I cleaned and transformed raw data in R, creating new variables and organizing messy inputs into clear categories. From there, I built a Tableau dashboard that visualized spending patterns and organized competitor comparisons.

RESULTS
The survey revealed strong user interest in saving across multiple categories: Clothing (88%) and groceries (76%) ranking highest. Household products (70%) and health & beauty (67%) also showed consistent demand. Electronics (60%) and gasoline (60%) followed. These insights validated the need for a price comparison tool and showed us what products users were most interested in directly shaping the design direction of Cargo.
